OVERVIEW
The goal of the organization is to make a difference by aiding those who may be struggling with medical expenses due to illness.
MISSION
Making a difference by helping others meet their medical needs with compassion because we CARE.
DESCRIPTION
The Cares for Cancer committee was founded in 2006. This committee has diligently worked to raise funding to support those stricken with medical hardship. In previous years the organization has supplied the majority of its funds to Riveredge Hospice to assist their efforts of providing end-of-life care to those in need. In 2011 Cares for Cancer, Inc. was established as its own 501(c) 3 Non-Profit Organization. With the new status, the organization is now able to open its funding efforts to local individuals struggling with medical expenses due to cancer and other chronic illnesses.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The funding for this organization comes soley from generous donations from our generous surrounding communities, businesses and individuals. The annual Cares for Cancer benefit raises the majority of the funding each year through an amazing meal, raffles, basket raffles, and live auction. The annual benefit is a time for families and friends from surrounding communties to come together for a joyful night to support and honor those who are courageously battling or have lost their battle with chronic illness.
