THE COMMITTEE

The ‘Cares for Cancer’ committee, comprised of members of surrounding communities, organizes their efforts to make a difference in people’s lives by providing monetary assistance for their medical expenses.  The organization annually donates funding to Riveredge Hospice in Breckenridge and the American Cancer Society.  Cares for Cancer, Inc. obtained 501 (c) 3 status in 2011.

Annually, Cares for Cancer holds a fundraising benefit on the last Saturday in March.  This benefit is considered the centerpiece of our fundraising efforts to support those battling illness.  Each year the benefit becomes larger with more people willing to come out and provide their support.  Amazing food, raffle tables, gift baskets, gift boards, gun boards, pig wheel, head shave, and live auction all provide ways for individuals to provide their support.  The benefit offers a family fun atmosphere for people to laugh, socialize, reminisce, and honor those who have lost a battle against a terminal illness or those who are still courageously fighting.

Each year the Cares for Cancer committee is amazed by the continued support from the surrounding communities.  It is desirable that this support continue to grow in our efforts to aid those who are struggling from medical expenses or through our local Hospice organization.
